RO-RO RAMP REFURBISHMENT, 1&2 RAMPS

Guernsey's only ro-ro ramps, based in St Peter Port Harbour, required major refurbishment in 2012. Siteweld's unique engineering solutions meant the project could be completed in a shorter timeframe and for less money.

We created support for the ramps with temporary piles, which allowed them to be worked on in situ, instead of the alternative - being floated to a shipyard in Rotterdam. 

The ramps were completely repainted and when the work was complete, the 650-tonne ramps were lowered back into the sea using a lifting system we pioneered.
